If the pet is still nursing, it is recommended to separate the pet from the mother for at least one hour before collecting the sample, as maternal DNA can mix with the pet's DNA through the milk. Additionally, provide plenty of water before collecting the sample. Food intake should also be restricted within one hour before sample collection to ensure accurate results.
